Tennessee needs instant impact on offense and appears to be getting just that in junior college tight end Dominick Wood-Anderson of Arizona Western.

Wood-Anderson, the nation’s top junior college tight end prospect, picked the Vols over Alabama and Texas A&M Wednesday night during the initial day of the early signing period. The 6-foot-5, 245-pound prospect is rated by 247Sports Composite Rankings as the top JUCO TE in the nation and the No. 11 overall JUCO prospect.

He earned NJCAA All-American honors for the 2017 season and looks to compete as an immediate starter on Rocky Top as senior tight end Ethan Wolf has exhausted his eligibility with Tennessee. In his JUCO career, Wood-Anderson registered 43 catches for 476 yards and four touchdowns.

In another victory for new head coach Jeremy Pruitt, the JUCO TE wasn’t even on Tennessee’s radar under former coach Butch Jones. After visiting campus last weekend, the Vols managed to land the coveted prospect over Pruitt’s former boss Nick Saban.
