Tennessee fans were able to breathe a sigh of relief Friday when Yahoo! Sports released their latest report on the FBI’s investigation into the state of corruption in college basketball. While five SEC programs had players, either current or former, that were implicated in the report, Tennessee was not among them.

Kentucky, Alabama, South Carolina, LSU, and Vanderbilt all were mentioned in the report.

Coming off a big win at home against Florida, the Vols are currently preparing for a Saturday trip to Oxford to take on Ole Miss. Instead of worrying about allegations into his program, unlike some coaches in the conference, Rick Barnes has all his attention on closing out the season strong on the court.

Barnes met with local Knoxville media Friday and offered up these thoughts on the latest report — While Barnes admits he has not read it, he claims a member of his staff filled him in on the details.

“No, I’m not surprised by anything that happens,” Barnes said when asked about the report. “I’ve been doing this a long time, so I’m not surprised by any of it. I don’t know what all is in the (Yahoo! Sports) report. We could sit here and talk about it days on end if you wanted to about all the things that have gone on in college basketball.”
