Tennessee basketball lands 2nd 5-star commit for 2020 class as elite SG pledges to Vols
Jeremy Pruitt isn’t the only Tennessee coach doing big things on the recruiting trail this week. UT basketball coach Rick Barnes landed a huge commitment on Wednesday when 5-star SG Jaden Springer announced he has pledged to the Volunteers.
Springer, who currently plays at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, is listed at 6-5, 195 pounds. He is rated the No. 4 recruit out of Florida, No. 4 shooting guard and No. 16 prospect overall nationally in the 2020 class on the 247Sports Composite.
Springer’s commitment gives Barnes two 5-star pledges on board for the 2020 class. Earlier this year, Keon Johnson committed to the in-state Vols. The class, which also includes 4-star SF Corey Walker, ranks No. 2 in the SEC and No. 4 nationally on the Composite.
