Back in August, Tennessee revealed that it would bring back its “Smokey Grey” alternate uniforms in 2022. The uniforms would be worn at least once through 2025, according to a university release, with 2023, 2024, and 2025 featuring updated designs.

We now know when the Volunteers will be donning them in 2022: on Saturday at LSU. Take a look at the reveal below:

The Nike design, called the “OG”, made its first appearance in 2015 against Georgia. The Vols have worn them 4 times: once in 2015, twice in 2016, and again in 2017, going 3-1 in those games. Fans can eventually buy the jersey from the athletic department’s online store.

Josh Heupel’s team has looked good so far regardless of what uniforms they’ve worn this year. They’re currently No. 8 and go into Baton Rouge with a 4-0 mark. That said, the Tigers have won the previous 5 meetings between the 2 programs, including the most recent one in 2017 in the 2nd-to-last game of the season.
