As Tennessee’s coaching search continues, Paul Finebaum weighed in with what he believes is the Vols best option for the position.

It truly has been a wild week for Tennessee. It appeared that Greg Schiano was accepting the head coaching position of the Volunteers on Sunday before that deal fell through.

Since that time, Oklahoma State’s Mike Gundy, Purdue’s Jeff Brohm, and N.C. State’s Dave Doeren have all been reportedly linked to the position, but no hire has been made as of this time.

The search is now dragging on as fans wait to see where the Vols will look next, but Finebaum believes Tennessee should offer Lane Kiffin. Finebaum made his comments on ESPN’s Outside the Lines and believes Kiffin is the best option available:

“At this point in time, I think he’s the best option they have,” said Finebaum.

Here is a look at his comments:

Tennessee fans remain split on Kiffin following his one season with the team in 2009 before leaving to take the USC job. Still, Kiffin has produced a solid year at FAU and would be an interesting hire for the Vols.
