It was no secret that many Tennessee fans clamored for the program to hire USC’s offensive coordinator last fall when it was clear a coaching change was imminent. While that is indeed what happened, it didn’t exactly go down as many on Rocky Top envisioned it occurring.

Soon after Jeremy Pruitt accepted the head coaching position in Knoxville, it was USC co-offensive coordinator Tyson Helton that got the call to join the new movement on Rocky Top — not Tee Martin. How that decision plays out remains to be seen but Helton is highly regarded as a quarterback developer and is credited with much of the development of likely No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft Sam Darnold.

Tennessee is currently in the process of transitioning to Helton’s offensive system this spring and with that in mind, the program has just posted a video featuring the offensive coordinator coaching up this spring and explaining what he envisions the offense on Rocky Top becoming:
