Kirk Herbstreit praises the culture of Tim Corbin's Vanderbilt baseball program, argues with Twitter followers
You can count ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit as one of the many admirers of Tim Corbin’s Vanderbilt baseball program. Some of his followers, however, don’t share that admiration.
A tweet by Vanderbilt Director of Baseball Operations Brooks Webb showing Stephen Scott cleaning up trash in the dugout after the Commodores’ national championship win caught Herbstreit’s eye. The “College GameDay” personality wrote, “It’s called CULTURE. And @TimCorbin helps set the bar for ALL coaches for doing it THE RIGHT WAY and winning National Titles along the way!!”
Not all of Herbstreit’s followers were onboard with his praise for Corbin. Multiple followers shot back that VU’s scholarship situation played a bigger part than culture, which did not amuse Herbie. A “stick to football” comment led Herbstreit to tell one tweeter, “Get the hell outta here dumbass.”

Think about what an asinine statement this is. “Stick to football”. By that logic you and every other person should “stick to their profession” and not comment on ANYTHING ELSE. Get the hell outta here dumbass. https://t.co/6sretixvG3

Hours later, Herbstreit retweeted this tweet saying Corbin takes time to thank the SEC grounds crew:
@KirkHerbstreit you nailed it when talking about @TimCorbin 21 years I have worked on @SEC BB tournament grounds crew. Win or Lose he always takes time to thank us for the job we do. Handshake or a wave saying thank you. #classact pic.twitter.com/PyXUweRNzO
