Bret Bielema gave updates to the status of several suspended Arkansas players at an Arkansas Razorbacks Club golf event on Friday. It doesn’t sound like Randy Ramsey, a rising sophomore outside linebacker, will rejoin the team this season.

Ramsey, who played in six games and made eight tackles in 2014, was suspended for the latter part of spring practice due to academic issues, and apparently he didn’t get his grades or classes in order enough to regain eligibility.

“Randy Ramsey is not with us right now and I don’t think he’ll be with us,” Bielema said, according to the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. “There are certain things that happened to him that took it out of my hands, actually. It’s NCAA and University of Arkansas guidelines that you have to pass a certain number of hours to get where you need to be, and obviously he didn’t make that.”

According to the report, Bielema did say that wide receivers Kendrick Edwards and Jojo Robinson are back with the team, giving the receiving corps a needed boost, but will be on a “zero tolerance” policy for any slip ups.

Edwards was removed from the team earlier in the spring for non-talent-based reasons and was given permission to seek a transfer, but in April Bielema opened up the possibility of his return to the team this summer. Edwards caught four passes for 70 yards and touchdown as a freshman last fall while Robinson redshirted.

Bielema also added that he expects all of Arkansas’ 2015 signees to be eligible this fall.
