Former NFL player Ryan Clark, now an analyst at ESPN, isn’t a fan of Trent Richardson.

Released Monday by the Oakland Raiders after a mediocre preseason, Richardson hasn’t yet emerged as the can’t-miss first-round pick he was coming out of Alabama as the Doak Walker Award winner in 2011.

Appearing on ESPN’s First Take this week, Clark bludgeoned Richardson with this quote to Skip Bayless:

“Trent Richardson is the worst running back of all time,” Clark said. “There’s a freshman that goes to University High in Baton Rouge Louisiana named Michael Hollins that I would take on my team right now in the NFL before Trent Richardson.

“I can’t believe they gave him $600,000 guaranteed.”

After rushing for more than 3,000 yards at Alabama, Richardson’s managed just 3.3 yards per carry over his first four NFL seasons with the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts.

In March, Richardson signed a two-year, $3.9 million contract with the Raiders, but has failed to make the team.
