Tennessee may need its defense to generate turnovers and win the field position battle Saturday against a Missouri team fighting to reach bowl eligibility.

Here are five impact players to watch for Tennessee as the Volunteers attempt to survive their final road test of the season:

1. DB/PR Cameron Sutton: The junior is the closest thing that Tennessee has to a shutdown defensive back. If Missouri QB Drew Lock makes any mistakes throwing in Sutton’s direction, Sutton will make him pay. Sutton can also quickly change field position as a punt returner. He has averaged 18.9 yards per return.

2. DE Derek Barnett: Putting pressure on Lock could be the best way for Tennessee to create turnovers. Barnett is Tennessee’s best defensive end, accumulating seven sacks so far this season.

3. LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin: The junior can quickly diagnose plays and meet the ball carrier at the point of attack. He has 11 tackles for loss this season. If Reeves-Maybin can make plays in the Missouri backfield, the Tigers’ woeful offense will stall.

4. DL Owen Williams: The senior has been solid against the run in Tennessee’s previous two contests. Missouri RB Russell Hansbrough is arguably the Tigers’ best offensive weapon, so stopping Missouri’s rushing attack will be Tennessee’s first priority.

5. P Trevor Daniel: If Tennessee wins the field position battle, Daniel will likely have played a big part. Last Saturday against North Texas, four of Daniel’s punts were downed inside the 20-yard line.
