The creation of the BCS in 1998 changed the college football world, providing a united champion. No longer would national titles be split with different organizations crowning different champions.

Since then, two teams have played for the national title in a Super Bowl-type atmosphere. Some of the games have been worthy of the hype, others have been anticlimactic.

Monday night’s game between Alabama and Clemson, a 40-35 victory for the Crimson Tide, was a classic.

Here’s a list of the 5 best national title games in the 18 years since the founding of the BCS, which was followed by the four-team College Football Playoff that debuted last season:

2008 BCS National Championship Game — Florida 24, Oklahoma 14: The Gators scored the game’s final 10 points in the fourth quarter to win a battle of Heisman Trophy quarterbacks Tim Tebow and Sam Bradford. Jonathan Phillips gave the Gators the lead with a 27-yard field goal. The Gators sealed the victory with a 4-yard touchdown pass from Tebow to David Nelson. Florida’s Urban Meyer became the first coach to win two BCS national titles.

2010 BCS National Championship Game — Auburn 22, Oregon 19: Wes Byrum’s 19-yard field goal won the game for the Tigers on the final play. Oregon had tied the game with a touchdown and a two-point conversion with 2:33 left. The big play on the game-winning drive was Michael Dyer’s 37-yard run after Oregon defenders thought he was down. Replays confirmed the ruling on the field, showed that his knee never touched the ground. Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton threw for 265 yards and two TDs and ran for 64 yards for the Tigers. Dyer ran for 143 yards.

2002 BCS National Championship Game — Ohio State 31, Miami 24: The Buckeyes snapped the Hurricanes’ 34-game winning streak, winning in double overtime at the Fiesta Bowl. Freshman sensation Maurice Clarett scored the game-winning TD on a 5-yard run. With a chance to either extend the game into a third overtime or win (with a two-point conversion), Miami QB Ken Dorsey threw incomplete on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line.

2005 BCS National Championship Game — Texas 41, Southern Cal 38: Vince Young’s 8-yard TD run on fourth down with 19 seconds left gave the Longhorns the national championship and snapped the Trojans’ 34-game winning streak. Texas won its 20th straight game in a Rose Bowl matchup featuring Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush of Southern Cal against Young, who finished second. The Longhorns got the ball back for the game-winning drive by stopping the Trojans’ LenDale White on fourth-and-2 near midfield.

2015 National Championship Game — Alabama 40, Clemson 35: Alabama TE O.J. Howard caught five passes for 208 yards and two TDs for the Crimson Tide, which won its fourth national title in the last seven seasons under Nick Saban. Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry rushed for 158 yards and three TDs for the Tide. Jacob Coker threw for 335 yards and two TDs. Clemson QB Deshaun Watson threw for 405 yards and four TDs and rushed for 73 yards.
