Kentucky fans were thrilled to see their 2017 quarterback commit Mac Jones show off his skills in April, winning MVP honors in Rivals Quarterback Challenges held in Atlanta and Baltimore.

However,  Jones’ performances got the attention of several elite schools that are now eyeing the prospect, including Texas A&M.

Jones expressed to 247Sports’ Taylor Hamm that the interest is mutual.

“I like (A&M) a lot,” Jones said. “I talk to the coaches about once a week. They seem like they’re really good coaches and work well together. It’s good to see how much they keep up with me so I’m trying to keep that relationship going.”

The 6-foot-3, 181-pounder out of Jacksonville, Fla. is rated as a three-star recruit and the No. 15 pro-style QB in his class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Alabama and Louisville both extended offers to Jones in April. Texas A&M hasn’t offered Jones yet, but offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone did pay a coaches’ visit to Jones last Wednesday.

The Aggies currently have a commitment from five-star QB Tate Martell, the top-rated dual-threat QB in the class.

“They haven’t really talked to me about (an offer),” Jones told 247Sports. “They still have a quarterback committed. We’ve really just been trying to build that relationship. They want me to get out to College Station. If they offer me, I’ll see about setting up a visit out there.”
