Marlon Character could be on his way to Auburn.

Jeffrey Lee of AuburnSports.com reported Thursday morning that Character, a three-star safety as rated by 247Sports‘ composite rankings, has qualified for Auburn and will report to the school on July 31.

AL.com reported in June that the 6-foot, 170-pound Atlanta product needed to raise his grade in an online class and retake the ACT. Apparently, those hurdles have been cleared.

“My main goal is just getting there,” Character told AL.com in June. “Getting there healthy and as soon as possible. I’m going to be getting down there a little later than everybody else so I’ll be trying to pick up the playbook and getting the hang of things and getting a feel for the coaches and the players and classes and everything.”

Character flipped his commitment from South Carolina to Auburn last November. He also received strong interest from Virginia Tech.
