Here’s perhaps the weirdest stat of the day.

According to SEC Network’s Cole Cubelic, Auburn is 8-0 all-time in games in which an opposing quarterback throws for more than 400 yards.

Auburn defeated Ole Miss, 40-29, Saturday despite allowing Chad Kelly to throw for 465 yards and three touchdowns, as well as an interception.

Sean White provided 247 yards and a touchdown of his own on 15 of 22 passing. But it was another strong performance from Auburn’s rushing attack that led to a big victory.

The Tigers combined for 307 yards and three touchdowns on 52 carries. Kamryn Pettway recorded a career-best 236 yards and a touchdown on 30 attempts. Kerryon Johnson, who returned from an ankle injury, added 42 yards and two touchdowns on 11 attempts.

So apparently a dominant rushing attack is the perfect answer for a big passing performance.
