The hotbeds of recruiting in Texas, Florida and Georgia are well documented, but oftentimes SEC programs go out of the conference footprint to pull talent from other areas of the country.

Scouring the nation for top talent has become an art form, and the better programs have become proficient in scouting and recognizing such talent.

Here are the top 10 players that SEC programs have plucked away from the other Power 5 recruiting fields (assuming no last-minutes changes of heart; signing day is Wednesday):

1. RB Najee Harris, Alabama – The 5-star California product was rated as the No. 2 prospect at his position coming out of high school and the No. 3 overall recruit in the nation by 247sports.com. He made official visits to Power 5 schools Michigan, UCLA and California before deciding on the Tide. Harris enrolled to the school earlier this month.

2. OT Isaiah Wilson, Georgia – The Bulldogs went to Brooklyn, N.Y., to find this 5-star gem. The top-rated recruit from his state, Wilson is considered a hard-commit to Georgia but is still being pursued by Michigan, Alabama and Rutgers.

3. QB Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama – The 5-star from Pac-12 recruiting territory Honolulu, HI., Tagovailoa went to the same high school as former Oregon QB and Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota. Considered the top quarterback in the 2017 class, he chose Alabama over LSU and Oregon, among others, and enrolled at the school this month.

4. RB D’Andre Swift, Georgia – The 4-star talent from Philadelphia, Pa., was ranked as the state’s top prospect out of high school. He is a hard-commit to Georgia, choosing the Bulldogs over Alabama, Clemson, Florida State and Penn State.

5. WR Mark Webb, Georgia – Another 4-star athlete from Pennsylvania that the Bulldogs covet, Webb verbally committed to Georgia after offers from such Power 5 schools as Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri and Nebraska. He also made an official visit to Penn State on Friday.

6. QB Lynn Bowden, Kentucky – A 4-star from Youngstown, Ohio, Bowden committed to Kentucky despite playing in the heart of Big Ten country. He also has offers from conference powers Michigan State and Nebraska.

7. DT Eric Crosby, Tennessee – The 4-star recruit from Virginia Beach, Va., verbally committed to Tennessee in April. However, playing in front of the eyes of ACC programs, Crosby is reportedly still considering Virginia Tech, Virginia and Florida State.

8. WR JaVonte Richardson, Kentucky – The Wildcats ventured into Big Ten country and pulled in the 4-star talent, who verbally committed in March. He is reportedly still considering Ohio State and Michigan State, and also has offers from Michigan and Syracuse.

9. OG T.J. Moore, Florida – A 4-star athlete from Charlotte, N.C., Moore gave the Gators a verbal commitment on Christmas Day. He had committed to South Carolina in August but decommitted two months later. He is reportedly considering Tennessee and South Carolina, and also has an offer from Auburn.

10. DE Joshua Paschal, Kentucky – A 4-star recruit from Maryland, Paschal has been heavily recruited from all over the country. Notre Dame, Maryland and Ohio State are reportedly still in the running. Paschal also has an offer from Missouri and has made official visits to Oklahoma and, most recently, Penn State.
