Jase McClellan is off the board, giving Alabama another NFL Draft selection for 2024!

The leading rusher for Alabama in 2023, McClellan was a 6th-round selection by the Atlanta Falcons Saturday afternoon. He joins an interesting situation where Bijan Robinson is anchored into the starting role but with a team looking to put together an explosive offense in 2024 and beyond.

McClellan has an explosive skill set after rushing for 890 yards and 8 touchdowns during the 2023 season. He’s also no stranger to the passing game, finishing his Alabama career with 40 career catches for 409 receiving yards with 6 touchdowns.

In addition to drafting Robinson in last year’s first-round, the Falcons have a budding young core of offensive skill players consisting of former Florida tight end Kyle Pitts, wide receiver Drake London and 2024 first-round pick Michael Penix Jr. McClellan will try to carve out a situational role early in his career within that unit.

McClellan’s selection also adds another Alabama running back to the NFL. The Crimson Tide now have a RB selected in 4 straight drafts dating back to 2021. That group consists of Najee Harris (2021), Brian Robinson Jr. (2022) and Jahmyr Gibbs (2023).

Going back to 2018, Alabama has had at least one RB selected in 6 of the last 7 NFL Drafts.
