One of the most interesting non-conference games of the 2017 season now has a kickoff time.

The Georgia vs. Notre Dame game time was announced Thursday, and it will be played at 7:30 p.m. ET in South Bend, Indiana. The game is scheduled for September 9, 2017, and it will be televised by NBC.

The Bulldogs face Appalachian State in week 1 before heading to Notre Dame in week 2. It will also be the Irish’s second game, as they face Temple on September 2.

The game will mark the first time the Bulldogs and Irish have played in the regular season. UGA and Notre Dame last played in the 1981 Sugar Bowl, with the Bulldogs winning 17-10, and it was the victory that led UGA to the 1980 national championship.

Notre Dame faltered to a 4-8 record during the 2016 season, while Georgia looks like it has some momentum heading into spring practice. With a talented defense returning and an improving offense, the Bulldogs will likely enter the favorite to win the SEC East in 2017.
