In times of trouble, people closest to you often make themselves available for assistance.

That was evident this week in Tennessee when a local hardware company wrote on its road sign, “weed problem, round-up, 13.99.” On its web site, the Witt Building Company said it has served East Tennessee since 1914. It has two locations in Knoxville.

Of course, that was in reference to the news this week that two Tennessee football players, leading rusher John Kelly and linebacker Will Ignont were cited for marijuana possession Tuesday night.

Neither player was arrested, but both players were suspended by head coach Butch Jones for Saturday’s game at Kentucky.

The news of the citations broke Wednesday, then came the suspensions, and Kelly tweeted an apology on Thursday for his actions and all those affected by this suspension.
