Alabama received some bad news Sunday on the heels of its dramatic victory over Mississippi State.

The Crimson Tide found themselves in quite a battle with the Bulldogs after falling behind in the second half. MSU QB Nick Fitzgerald kept the Bulldogs in the game all night long while Alabama continued to deal with injuries on the defensive side of the ball. Mississippi State carried a lead into the fourth quarter but could not finish off the upset.

In the end, the Tide capped the game off with a 14-3 run in the fourth quarter and came away with the victory. QB Jalen Hurts threw the game-winning touchdown with under a minute to play to push the team to 10-0 on the season.

It was a great win on the road for the team, but Alabama will have to deal with another injury moving forward. It was reported Sunday that OL Ross Pierschbacher suffered a high-ankle sprain and will miss 2-4 weeks. That puts his status for a tough matchup against Auburn in question.

ESPN’s Alex Scarborough shared the news on Twitter:

Alabama should not face much of a battle from Mercer, but it would definitely like to have Pierschbacher for the Iron Bowl and potential SEC Championship Game appearance.
