Florida 4-star signee Justin Watkins announces departure from Gator program

Justin Watkins won’t be a member of Dan Mullen’s first Florida team, after all.

The touted member of Mullen’s first signing class in Gainesville, Watkins was rated as a four-star signee and the No. 16 wide receiver in the nation for the 2018 recruiting cycle, was recently arrested for the second time this offseason. Following that news, Watkins has announced he will be leaving school to “better my opportunities.”

Following his arrest, Watkins was charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors. He is accused of striking a woman repeatedly, ch0cking her and pinning her down. The woman claims she had to mace Watkins to prevent him from during further damage.
