Louisville tight ends coach Chris Klenakis may not be with his team when it opens the season against Alabama on Sept. 1.

Klenakis was placed on administrative leave on Monday after he was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly driving drunk through a construction zone in Shelbyville, Ky, according to WDRB.com. Klenakis, 50, was charged with reckless driving, wanton endangerment, DUI and possession of alcohol.

Klenakis was reportedly charged around 1 a.m. Sunday. He almost struck a barrier wall multiple times before driving through a construction zone where several employees were working. He refused to cooperate and nearly walked in front of a truck before he was grabbed while doing a field sobriety test.

Klenakis’ blood alcohol level was reportedly .165, more than twice the legal limit in Kentucky, and there were crushed beer cans in the passenger seat. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.

Klenakis joined Louisville’s staff in 2014 as offensive line coach. He moved to tight ends coach last season.
