A trio of road losses by ranked SEC teams shook up this week’s Football Writers Association of America-National Football Foundation Super 16 poll, but the conference still retained its place at the top of the rankings.

Alabama and Georgia checked in at the top two spots following Week 6, with both teams pulling in the same number of first-place votes (49 for the Crimson Tide and one for the Bulldogs). Notre Dame took the No. 5 spot and final first-place vote from LSU, which tumbled all the way to No. 13 following its 27-19 loss at Florida last Saturday.

The Gators jumped into the poll at No. 14 thanks to their big win, though a pair of SEC squads fell from the rankings. Kentucky and Auburn suffered conference road losses last weekend but were the top vote-getters outside the poll with 43 apiece.

Rounding out the SEC is Texas A&M and Mississippi State, which each received a handful of votes for their parts in those conference upsets.
