Texas A&M didn’t have to look far to find its new tight ends coach.

Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher has selected three-year Missouri staffer Joe Jon Finley for his staff, according to a report from TexAgs.com. Finley will replace outgoing tight ends coach Tim Brewster, who accepted the same position on Mack Brown’s new North Carolina staff.

Finley played high school football in Arlington, Texas, before moving on to be a tight end at both Oklahoma and in the NFL. Finley has gotten huge production from Missouri tight ends since he joined the school in 2016 — the Tigers led the nation with 15 touchdowns by tight ends in 2017, and sophomore Albert Okwuegbunam is a finalist for the 2018 Mackey Award.

Now he’ll have a chance to work with Texas A&M junior Jace Sternberger, who on Monday was named the First Team All-SEC tight end by the Associated Press.
