Baltimore police have released the details of the arrest of Alex Collins.

The former Arkansas Razorbacks standout was arrested Friday morning in Baltimore County. Police have revealed that they were responding to a 911 call about a Chevrolet Corvette crashed into a tree. At the scene, Collins was asleep behind the wheel. Police smelled marijuana and searched the vehicle, finding approximately five ounces of marijuana (more than 14 times the amount considered personal use) and a handgun.

Collins told police that the crash happened around 4:30 a.m. He was taking a friend home when he lost control of his car due to snow on the road. Collins said he fell asleep waiting for a tow truck. The 911 call by the passerby was made at 6:48 a.m. Collins’ friend opted to walk the rest of the way home.

While in custody, Collins also told police he had marijuana and guns in his home, leading police to obtain a search warrant and seize more marijuana (less than 10 grams), two riles and ammunition. Collins faces charges of CDS Possession with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana in Excess of 10 grams and Handgun in Vehicle. He was released after posting a $7,500 bond.

The Baltimore Ravens have already waived Collins.
