Senior Bowl executive director heaps praise on Mississippi State QB Tommy Stevens
New Mississippi State QB Tommy Stevens attended the Manning Passing Academy over the weekend, and Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy was very impressed.
Stevens transferred to MSU for his final season following a career at Penn State, where he previously played under Joe Moorhead. We shouldn’t assume that Stevens will be the starter in Starkville over Keytaon Thompson; however, adding a signal caller who is already been in Moorhead’s system and has big-game experience is certainly a plus.

Nagy took to social media about how impressed he was with Steven’s ability. Obviously, it’s different without pads and 6-foot-5 monsters chasing you around in the pocket. Still, it should excite MSU fans to have Stevens on the roster and competing for the starting QB job.
You can see Nagy’s tweet below:
Biggest surprise of Manning Passing Academy was Mississipi State QB Tommy Stevens. Scouts talk about how guys “spin it” and Stevens spun it as well as anyone at the camp. We knew he was big and athletic but he has a live arm. @HailStateFB fans should be excited about this kid! pic.twitter.com/kWRJ5N8hXP
