Texas A&M basketball will lose some depth for the foreseeable future as it announced that G T.J. Starks is suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. It’s the second time in two years that Starks has sat out for that reason.

The program didn’t give a reason for the suspension, but Starks has yet to play this season because of an ankle injury, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Starks had an up-and-down sophomore season last year, and played in 27 games with 18 starts. He led the team in assists (94) and averaged 12.3 points per game. He was suspended for one game last season due to a violation of team rules and was benched in other games. He dislocated his right shoulder in the first half for the game at LSU, and missed the remainder of the season.

He may be most remembered last season for hitting the game-winning three at the buzzer to help the Aggies earn their first win at Alabama as SEC opponents.

A&M will next play Friday night as the Aggies host Gonzaga at 8 p.m. on SEC Network.
