South Carolina’s offense struggled mightily at Texas A&M as the Gamecocks were without several key players. But the Gamecocks also couldn’t find any rhythm with the players who did play in a 30-6 loss.

After the game, coach Will Muschamp spoke with reporters after LB T.J. Brunson was ejected for targeting and QB/WR Dakereon Joyner suffered an injury on a helmet-to-helmet hit that was reviewed for targeting but not confirmed.

“I’m not going to comment on that,” Muschamp said, according to David Cloninger. “Two of our guys got whacked … it’s beyond me, guys. I’m done … I’m done.”

Leading WR Bryan Edwards practiced all week, but his knee swelled up on Thursday and he didn’t feel good about it by Friday.

“We have obviously lost some confidence on offense,” he said, according to SportsTalkSC. “We can’t stay on the field on third down. They’re not a tempo team and they end up running 80 snaps. … Can’t get anything going in the running game. We’re having a hard time piecing anything together offensive. But I thought our kids played hard and they gave effort.”

After the university president and athletics director released statements in recent days about Muschamp’s future, he reacted to the support.

“I’ve had wonderful communication and support, from coach Tanner and his office, and the President, and the Board, from Day 1. Publicly, I don’t know what’s out there,” Muschamp said. “I plan on taking this program, really, where it hasn’t been before. I appreciate the support in a very trying time. But the support’s never changed for me.”
