LSU QB Joe Burrow received his latest honor this week when Sports Illustrated put him on the cover for a story by writer Ross Dellenger.

The piece is titled, “Joe Burrow’s Remarkable Rise Has Been Beyond Even His Wildest Dreams: Once overlooked and dismissed, LSU quarterback and Heisman Trophy frontrunner Joe Burrow has shockingly shaped the football landscape as he leads the No. 1 team toward the College Football Playoff.”

Against Ole Miss, Burrow became the all-time leading single-season passer in LSU history, as he broke Rohan Davey’s record of 3,347 yards set in 2001. Burrow needed just 150 yards to break the record and he did it early in the game.

The LSU record for passing touchdowns in a game used to be 5. Burrow broke that mark when he threw 6 against Vanderbilt in September. The 5 he had against Ole Miss marked the 4th time this season he has had at least as many as what the record used to be.

The Athens, Ohio native now has 4,014 passing yards this season, and leads the country with a 78.9 percent completion percentage.
