Auburn OL Prince Tega Wanogho received some surprising medical news at the Senior Bowl when he found out that a knee issue caused him to receive a “medical flag” and not be able to participate in the showcase on Saturday.

Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy announced Tuesday morning that the former Auburn offensive tackle was one of a few players who will not participate in the week of practices or Saturday’s game at Ladd-Peebles Stadium because of medical red flags.

“It was surprising the doctors saying that,” Wanogho said, according to the Montgomery Advertiser. “I didn’t really find out until this morning that I actually got red-flagged not to play or practice. I’m kind of surprised about it, too. Coming down here I already had my mind right to play and practice, but it is what it is and the end of the day.”

The Advertiser also reported that Wanogho has trained in Pensacola, Florida, said the reason for that was swelling in his knee. He missed Auburn’s Sept. 14 game against Kent State because of a knee injury, but started each of the team’s other 12 games at left tackle.

It’s unknown how this may change his NFL Draft stock, but it’s something to watch in the coming months as he works to impress NFL scouts.
