The results are in from the 2020 NFL Combine following the medical evaluation portion of the event and the big winner appears to be Tua Tagovailoa.

A day after Mel Kiper Jr. elevated the former Alabama signal-caller to No. 3 in his latest mock draft, Kiper has Tua going to the Lions, it appears the longtime ESPN NFL Draft analyst was on to something as Tagovailoa has been given positive feedback following Monday’s medical exams in Indianapolis.

As could have been expected, Tagovailoa revealed on Tuesday that he was examed by NFL doctors longer than any other prospect at the 2020 NFL Combine. According to the former Alabama quarterback, he entered the exams around 10 a.m. and left just before 8 p.m. on Monday. There was no chance the NFL wasn’t going to take this opportunity to check anything and everything they could when it comes to Tagovailoa’s status.

After all that poking and prodding, Tagvovailoa passed all the tests thrown at him, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

“Following two days of medical testing, #Bama QB Tua Tagovailoa received overwhelmingly positive reports on his dislocated hip from teams who examined him, sources say. The MRIs were as clean as hoped, fracture is healed, there is no loss of blood flow. One source: ‘Looked great.'”

While this news is good, the next test for Tagovailoa will come during his Pro Day. According to Tua, he won’t be cleared for Alabama’s upcoming Pro Day but plans to hold an individual Pro Day at Alabama in April. While NFL teams don’t make a habit of sending multiple scouts just to see one player, it’s likely every team in the NFL will send someone to watch Tua throw once he’s cleared to do so.
