Auburn wide receiver Zach Farrar (Southlake, Texas) has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to AL.com’s Matt Zenitz.

Farrar started his career at Oklahoma. When he signed with the Sooners in 2016, he was rated a 3-star prospect and was ranked as the nation’s No. 87 overall wide receiver, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Farrar then left Oklahoma and transferred to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College before landing at Youngstown State. He made his way to Auburn prior to last season as a graduate transfer with 2 years of eligibility remaining.

During 2019, Farrar caught just 3 passes for 41 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Tigers. Going from JUCO to Youngstown State to the SEC was a big step for Farrar, and it appears he’s now headed elsewhere in search of more playing time.

It’s important to note that just because a player enters the NCAA transfer portal it doesn’t mean he’ll leave; however, more times than not, the player ends up elsewhere. Entering the portal allows other programs to contact Farrar.
