Dick Vitale calls out NCAA over delay in Olivier Sarr eligibility waiver decision
Since former Wake Forest big man Olivier Sarr announced he was transferring to Kentucky to finish his college career, he’s been waiting to see if he’ll be able to play in 2020-21 or not.
The NCAA has seemingly lost Kentucky’s file when it comes to transfer waivers, as Sarr and football QB Joey Gatewood are still waiting for decisions.
On Wednesday, ESPN basketball analyst Dick Vitale took to Twitter to call out the NCAA for the lengthy delay on a ruling for Sarr:
I mean analyzing a player ala OLIVIER SARR of @KentuckyMBB doesn’t require GENIUS STATUS : y would would it take so long ? Come on his Coach fired / Wake ‘s new coach supports his waiver claim . I have an idea could it be due to the following name C-A-L-I-P-A-R-I ? Just asking

Kentucky brings in the No. 1 rated recruiting class in the 2020 cycle, per the 247Sports composite rankings. But, adding Sarr inside would instantly improve the Wildcats’ title chances.
Last year at Wake Forest, Sarr appeared in 30 games, starting 15 of them. He averaged 13.7 points, 9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per contest.
