Tanking for Trevor? Jaguars reportedly trade former Alabama defender Ronnie Harrison
Just when it appeared the Jaguars couldn’t be more open to tanking the upcoming season, another promising player could be on his way out in Jacksonville.
After coming off his best season to date in the NFL, the Jaguars are interested in shopping 23-year-old defensive back
.That’s the latest report out of Jacksonville from NFL insider Tyler Dunne.
Harrison, a former Crimson Tide defender, started 14 games for the Jaguars in 2019 and made 71 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and defended nine passes. He was a third-round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft after leaving Alabama.
If the Jaguars are trying to do what they can to ensure they have the ability to draft Trevor Lawrence — if he even decides to leave Clemson early — they aren’t being very subtle about it.
UPDATE: Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that Harrison has been traded to the Browns.
If you missed the news, Cleveland rookie defensive back Grant Delpit was lost for the season due to injury during camp. When taking that injury into consideration, trading for Harrison makes sense for the Browns.
