This is the kind of game Kyle Trask was raised to play in. Unfortunately, he expected to be on the other side, however, it didn’t pan out.

Trask told reporters on Monday ahead of Florida’s game at Texas A&M and Kyle Field that he was named after the Aggies stadium. He said his whole family are Aggies, and, “I was definitely raised to hate the Longhorns.”

Trask is a native of Manvel, Texas, which is located south of Houston.

Trask added that, “I’m definitely going to have to get a lot of tickets this week,” and said more than 50 percent of his family went to A&M.

Trask is coming off a big win over South Carolina where he completed 21 of 29 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns. He also had a first-half fumble and fourth-quarter interception.

Trask has six touchdowns to TE Kyle Pitts, one more than they had in 2019.

Trask is playing at Heisman Trophy level, and he became just the third player in SEC history to throw for at least 10 passing touchdowns in his team’s first two games, after Tim Couch and Terry Dean.

Florida and Texas A&M will meet at noon ET on Saturday.
