Kirby Smart announced Monday that Georgia wide receiver Tommy Bush suffered an injury in a minor accident.

“Tommy was in a minor accident and thankfully is healthy, is safe,” Smart said during Monday’s press conference. “He has a little bit of a concussion. He’s injured. He has some injuries but we are thankful Tommy is okay because it was a dangerous situation.”

Smart said he wasn’t sure of the exact details of the accident, although he acknowledged he’d been struck a vehicle.

According to UGASports.com, a Rivals.com site, Bush was hit by a car while crossing the street Saturday night. Citing sources, Bush was walking with teammates across the street when a car hit him. He suffered bruises and facial lacerations. Police are investigating the incident.

The Bulldogs wide receiver did not dress out in Saturday’s win over Tennessee, and he was hampered in 2019 by a sports hernia.

Bush signed at Georgia in the class of 2018 as a 4-star recruit from Schertz, Texas. He’s caught 1 pass for 1 yard during his UGA career.
