Two veteran Mississippi State players are reportedly looking at continuing their college football careers elsewhere.

Joel Coleman of Cowbell Corner is reporting that offensive lineman James Jackson and kicker Jace Christmann have both entered the NCAA transfer portal.

It was pointed out by Zach Goodall of All Gators that both Bulldogs have connections to Florida coach Dan Mullen if they’re looking to continue their careers in the SEC.

Mullen signed Jackson as a defensive tackle. Jackson redshirted in 2017, Mullen’s final year with the program. In 2018, Jackson moved from offensive line to defensive tackle. Over the past three seasons, Jackson appeared in 23 games, making 8 total tackles.

Christmann began his Mississippi State career as a walk-on in 2016. He earned SEC All-Freshman recognition in 2017.

Florida is looking for a kicker after Evan McPherson decided to forego his senior season and enter the 2021 NFL Draft. Christmann played in 41 games over the last four seasons, going 32-of-40 on field goals and becoming the school’s career leader in PATs made with 123.
