Tennessee has officially added a former Elite 11 Finals quarterback to its roster.

Last week, news broke that former Michigan quarterback Joe Milton was enrolled at Tennessee and would soon be joining Josh Heupel’s football program. Well, Milton apparently didn’t want that news out there at the time and denied he was officially joining the program at the time.

Despite his initial hesitancy to do so last week, Milton has now officially announced his decision to join Tennessee.

Milton started last season at Michigan after being rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 9 pro-style passer in the country in the 2018 recruiting cycle. He was an Elite 11 Finalist out of Olympia High School in Florida during the 2018 recruiting cycle.

He started five games last season for Michigan, completing 80 of 141 attempts for 1,077 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions for the Wolverines. In February, Milton made the decision to transfer from Michigan after his three seasons with the program.

Now Milton will be added to Tennessee’s jumbled quarterback competition, which currently featured Virginia Tech graduate transfer Hendon Hooker, sophomore Harrison Bailey, junior Brian Maurer, and true freshman Kaidon Salter.
