Alabama’s long snapper is off the board at the NFL Draft.

The Carolina Panthers selected Thomas Fletcher with the No. 222 overall pick in this year’s draft. Todd McShay was quick to praise the sixth-round pick on ESPN.

“I like this guy,” McShay said. “He’s a little undersized … gets the ball out quickly. Never had a major botch.

“I think he’s going to be the best long snapper in the league.”

Fletcher was a four-year starter for the Crimson Tide and started every game of his career. Notably, he recovered a fumble on a punt against Missouri during the 2020 season.

Fletcher is originally from Georgetown, Texas, and attended IMG Academy in Florida.
