Ed Orgeron is looking for a new assistant coach.

LSU issued a brief release to media members Wednesday announcing the departure of offensive line coach James Cregg. In the statement, Orgeron said he will immediately begin a national search for Cregg’s replacement.

Cregg joined the staff in December of 2017. He arrived after spending four seasons (2014-17) in the NFL with the Broncos and Chargers, having previously worked with Orgeron at Tennessee and Southern Cal.

Cregg, who played offensive line at Colorado State 1992-95, has been coaching since 1997, getting his start as a grad assistant at his alma mater.
