Arkansas coach Sam Pittman is well aware that Missouri has controlled the recent history of the Battle Line Rivalry against the Razorbacks.

Earlier in the day at SEC Media Days, Mizzou coach Eli Drinkwitz offered his thoughts on the rivalry, and said, “I don’t remember the last time they beat us, so I kind of like that one. And the battle line rivalry, it’s pretty good for us. I think we’ll just keep that one right now. That’s a good one.”

Pittman then offered his thoughts, and the recent history of it. The last Arkansas win was in 2015, a 28-3 decision in Fayetteville.

“I think it’s a very good rivalry,” Pittman said. “Obviously, we haven’t been on the winning side of that the last five years. I think the last time we beat Missouri was my last year at Arkansas as the offensive line coach. Certainly when Barry (Odom) was the head coach over there, he beat Arkansas four times in a row. So it might be a little bit more of a rivalry for the people who are getting their butt kicked. I don’t know, you’d have to ask Eli, but we’ve been getting ours done and I love the fact that Missouri’s close to us. Eli and I are good friends, but at the same time we’re very competitive as well. I’m glad we look at it at Arkansas as Missouri is our No. 1 rivalry.”
