Chance Campbell delivered a strong showing Monday night for Ole Miss in the season opener against Louisville. The Maryland transfer turned in 7 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for a loss in the 43-24 victory.

After the game, coach Lane Kiffin described what Campbell has brought to the Rebels.

“Did a really good job,” Kiffin said. “He’s come in and been a good leader and just been excited to have a veteran come in there and step up and play really well and so that was great to see, and the whole defense, a lot of guys made plays in there. A lot of guys on this tackle list. It was cool to see the players play well and on top of that see the scheme come together and work well.”

Campbell last season at Maryland led the team with 43 tackles (22 solo) and 5.5 tackles for loss in just 4 games. Overall, he appeared in 25 career games at Maryland from 2018-20, including 6 starts at linebacker.
