SEC Week 6 predictions: ESPN's SP+ predicts every game
There are some crucial conference matchups to be played in the SEC this weekend, highlighted by stern road tests for Georgia and Alabama, as well as Arkansas at Ole Miss..
The Crimson Tide will be at struggling but talented Texas A&M, while the Bulldogs will travel to Auburn to face a Tigers team coming off its first win at LSU in more than 20 years..
ESPN’s Bill Connelly released his weekly SP+ predictions Wednesday, which uses a computer model that he has described as an “opponent- and tempo-adjusted look at the most sustainable and predictive aspects of college football. It is intended to be predictive and forward-facing.”
In the aforementioned SEC showdowns, the SP+ model predicts a 30-21 Alabama victory, which would be far closer than the current spread of 17.5. SP+ also likes Georgia to defeat Auburn, 29-19, and Ole Miss to down Arkansas, 31-27.
Here’s a look at what the SP+ model predicts for all of the week’s SEC action:
- Ole Miss 31, Arkansas 27
- Tennessee 32, South Carolina 17
- Florida 49, Vanderbilt 7
- Kentucky 29, LSU 26
- Georgia 29, Auburn 19
- Missouri 38, North Texas 20
- Alabama 30, Texas A&M 21
