Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is expected to miss Sunday’s game against Houston with a hand injury.

According to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, Tagovailoa has a small fracture in the middle finger of his throwing hand.

The injury has not recovered to the point that the former Alabama star will be able to start against the Texans.

Jacoby Brissett will start for the 1-7 Dolphins.

Tagovailoa, who has already missed 3 games this season due to a rib injury, has passed for 1,040 yards, 7 touchdowns and 5 interceptions in the 5 games he has played.

The 6-1, 217-pounder was taken by Miami with the 5th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft after a standout career with the Crimson Tide.

Tagovailoa appeared in 10 games for the Dolphins as a rookie a year ago, passing for 1,814 yards, 11 TDs, and 5 interceptions.
