Emory Jones was expected to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal; however, according to a new report by On3 Sports’ Matt Zenitz, that hasn’t happened yet and his future is still up in the air.

“An update on Florida QB Emory Jones: Had been expected to enter the transfer portal but hasn’t officially done so at this point and, per sources, is still with the team at Florida. Is enrolled in classes and took part in a team meeting yesterday,” Zenitz tweeted Wednesday.

It should be noted that Jones is set to graduate this spring, and his future, including for spring football practice, is very much undecided.

Jones still has several options on the table. He could go through spring practice and elect to stay with Florida, or he could graduate and transfer to another program with or without practicing with the team this spring.

The Florida quarterback threw for 2,733 yards, 26 touchdowns and 14 INTs in 2021. He also added 758 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. Should Jones decide to stay at Florida, he’ll compete with backup Anthony Richardson and incoming Ohio State transfer Jack Miller for the starting job.
