Mississippi State adds transfer punter/kicker from FCS ranks
Mississippi State coach Mike Leach famously called out his kickers after a loss earlier this year.
Now, it seems he’s scouring the transfer portal for competition, bringing in a kicker/punter from the transfer portal on Wednesday.
As you can see below, former Northern Colorado punter/kicker Ben Raybon took to Twitter on Wednesday to reveal he would be spending his final year of college eligibility in Starkville:
Couldn’t be more excited to announce that I will playing my last year of college football at Mississippi State!Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported me along the way? time to get to work!! #hailstate pic.twitter.com/E77PcF8LOc

Raybon made 8 of his 14 field goal attempts in 2021, with a long field goal of 57 yards.
Mississippi State figures to have plenty of competition at both field goal kicker and punter this upcoming season. We’ll see if Raybon can impress Leach and his staff this spring and summer.
