Tennessee, Texas A&M snubs headline NCAA Tournament bracket reactions
Tennessee was set to received a No. 2 seed, or even a No. 1 seed following its championship run to capturing the program’s first SEC Tournament title since 1979. But then the NCAA Tournament bracket was revealed and the Vols received a No. 3 seed.
It got fans and media to wonder if the bracket was set earlier in the weekend, ahead of Sunday’s championship game.
The other snub was the SEC Tournament darling Texas A&M, which played itself into the Sunday championship only to lose to Tennessee, and significantly upgraded its resume thanks to 3 wins in 3 days.
For perspective, ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi pegged the Aggies as the final team in the field as of Sunday afternoon in his latest projection.
Those were the 2 major reactions to the NCAA Tournament reveal on Sunday night.
Here’s a sampling of how fans and media described it:
Texas A&M vs. postseason selection committees is one of the hottest new rivalries in college sports.

Gutted for Texas A&M.
Between that and Tennessee being a No. 3 seed, Greg Sankey should make some angry phone calls and then move the SEC Tournament Champioship Game from Sunday.
Ridiculous job by the committeee. A&M deserved that more than a handul of those in the field.

All Texas A&M did was get four Quad 1 wins in its last six games.

Texas A&M was the 4th team out?
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Total bullshit that Tennessee got a three seed. Complete and total bullshit. Committee should be ashamed for not looking at data. Embarrassing.

Tennessee being a No. 3 seed and Duke being a No. 2 seed is an absolute joke on every level.

SEC needs to move their tournament to a championship won on Saturday, Tennessee deserved the 2 seed over dUKe, but then again would Tennessee say the same about Kentucky if the tide was turned? #BBN

Tennessee got played & they are going to destroy Longwood. Providence is in trouble with South Dakota St. Can’t wait to see the spread on that game.
