Plenty of preseason accolades are being given out with the 2022 college football season less than one month away, and there are a host of SEC players that have been in the mix for those.

When Pro Football Focus released its 2022 PFF College Preseason All-America team, 27 players from the conference saw their names on the list. Alabama was the most represented team in the nation with a total of 9 players, while Georgia (7), Texas A&M (5) and Florida (3) also received a lot of attention.

The list included some obvious headliners like Alabama QB Bryce Young and LSU WR Kayshon Boutte, but also recognized some less-talked-about SEC talent.

Several other SEC players who didn’t make the cut at all for PFF’s preseason team were listed as honorable mentions. These names included Alabama RB Jahmyr Gibbs, Alabama WR Jermaine Burton, Texas A&M OL Layden Robinson, Arkansas LB Bumper Pool, LSU CB Jarrick Bernard-Converse, Alabama S Brian Branch, Ole Miss S Isheem Young and Texas A&M PR Ainias Smith.

Several of these players have been tabbed as dark horses or players who could potentially have a breakout season in 2022, so it will be interesting to see how they rise through the rankings as the season progresses this fall.
