Alabama no longer ranked No. 1 in AP Poll
Alabama slipped from the top spot in the AP Top 25 poll on Sunday following a narrow escape at Texas. Georgia took over the top spot as Alabama slipped to No. 2, and the top 5 was rounded out by Ohio State, Michigan and Clemson.
Alabama received 9 first-place votes behind 53 for Georgia, and Ohio State also received a first-place vote. Georgia won 33-0 over Samford on Saturday, while the Crimson Tide edged Texas, 20-19.
Georgia, which started the season at No. 3 in the AP Top 25, took 2 weeks to get back to where they spent most of last year. Georgia opened the season by beating Oregon 49-3.
