The expansion of the College Football Playoff will come with a number of changes. One of those could be a sharing of media rights as ESPN has signaled its willingness to do just that with other media companies moving forward.

The rights could be worth as much as $2.2 million per year.

“We’ve been clear to anyone who is interested that we are very willing to be flexible here and be creative in terms of this expansion,” ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro said.

Amazon and Apple will be two companies to watch in the midst of this potential expansion and its expected that ESPN will still want to maintain hold of the title game, in addition to several postseason contests.

It will be interesting to see how this evolves as college football continues to evolve on multiple fronts.
