Jermaine Burton is off the board in the 2024 NFL Draft, landing with an intriguing AFC North team to begin his NFL journey!

In the 3rd round, the Cincinnati Bengals made the move to grab the former Alabama and Georgia star with the 80th overall pick. Burton was far from the top group of receivers selected in the draft with 7 WRs going in Thursday’s first round. However, he may have found the best situation possible.

The Bengals recently let veteran Tyler Boyd hit free agency, and fellow receiver Tee Higgins is currently on the roster but has requested a trade. In Burton, the Bengals found a young receiver at a decent slot to pair with Ja’Marr Chase, the electric former LSU star who remains the top option in the passing game.

Cincinnati is also looking for more explosive plays on offense and pieces to work with quarterback Joe Burrow. That’s an area where Burton can step in and shine.

This past season, Burton averaged 20.5 yards per catch with 8 touchdowns for the Crimson Tide, showcasing his regular ability to break the big play. For his career, Burton averaged 18 yards per catch.

While there was never a chance for Burton to come off the board alongside the ranks of Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze, he lands with a great fit and will have a great opportunity to make an immediate impact to begin his NFL career.
